Asian Flags
Flags of Asia are often divided into international and national flags.1 The international flags represent groups of nations, such as the Commonwealth of Independent States, the League of Arab States, and Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, and others.
A wide array of designs and colors can be found among the Asian flags.1 Symbols of the sun, crescent moon, and stars are popular.1 The only Asian flag with a cross is the flag of Georgia, which has one red cross and four smaller ones.
Colors that are seen in Arab flags are red, black, white, and green.1 It is thought that the colors represent a specific Arab Dynasty with1 black, symbolizing the flag of the Islamic Prophet Muhammad.
